The Necropsy section of the Clinical Proficiency Exam evaluates a candidate’s ability to perform a systematic post-mortem examination, identify abnormalities, and collect diagnostic samples.


Proper Handling & Necropsy Technique

Correct positioning of the animal for necropsy

Proper use of necropsy instruments (scalpel, shears, forceps, etc.)

Examination & Identification of Lesions

Evaluating external and internal structures for abnormalities

Collecting tissue samples for histopathology, microbiology, and toxicology
